Here is essentially the entire show we filmed last night at Access. I split it into three segments and put it on Youtube. This was all shot on my Flip Mino, which we put just out of range of the cameras at the Access 4 studio.
First Segment:
In this bit, Micah and I read our updated and condensed script for Psycho. We modernized the script a bit, with multiple references to Arby's and a few other inside jokes. I think my lady voice is pretty funny. Hitchcock would not be proud.
Second Segment:
Same thing, only this time we're taking on Hitchcock's Rear Window. I hope you enjoy Micah's incredible Jimmy Stewart impersonation.
Third Segment:
If we were titling our segments, we might call this one "A-holes and Badasses." Micah covers a-holes of history, and I cover badasses of history. There's plenty of room out there for expanding this segment, as there are tons more a-holes and badasses in history.

New Just Two Guys Show
What's happenin' everyone? It's been a long, looooooooong time since we've posted anything here at the Just Two Guys blog. Not to fear, though. We've got some hot new content coming down the pipe soon. We honestly just haven't had a lot to blog about lately. Part of it is the dreary winter, part of it is just not having a damn thing to say.
We taped a new show tonight at the studio. Additionally, I took my Flip Mino into the studio and taped the whole thing. Tomorrow, I'll edit the footage I shot and get the whole thing on Youtube. I just watched it, and it's some quality stuff. There's one segment where I couldn't stop laughing. I guess it's good when you're doing stuff that you think is funny, even if other people don't. I'm a lot like Joaquin Phoenix in that way, I guess.
So, look for that. Plus, Micah and I have decided to put the Flip to good use and record a couple of small segment-style shows in the next couple of weeks. We have a couple short dramatic readings (one a scene from The Godfather, the other a scene from The Graduate) that got bumped from tonight's taping due to time constraints.
We did a segment tonight, too, where Micah discussed A-holes in History, and I covered Badasses in History. We tried to discuss people who have mostly flown under the radar. I mean, everyone knows Hitler was an a-hole. We dug deeper and revealed a-holes and badasses you've maybe never realized. We'll try to get some of our a-holes and badasses on the blog here in the next week or so. I had several badasses who didn't get a mention in the show. And I'm sure Micah had some a-holes who got bumped for time.
Anyway, good to be here.

Fringe Voices
The Illinois Times article written by Dusty Rhodes is now online. She discusses the local public access scene within the context of the collapse of access programming across the country.
Here's my favorite blurb.
Here's my favorite blurb.
Quirky, urbane, and purposely unpolished, Just Two Guys features the clean-cut 30-something duo engaging in a variety of mostly mundane adventures: bowling, presenting “dramatic readings,” presiding over a celebrity donut-eating contest, and using marshmallows and toothpicks to create sculptures. In their debut episode, Roderick told viewers that the show will be “a couple of guys sitting around talking about topics they have no expertise in.” The show’s charm comes from having two witty, intelligent hosts who try hard to not try too hard.

Standing in the Cold for Pictures
Micah and I are such shameless self-promoters that we stood in the cold at Union Square today so Dusty Rhodes could snap some pictures of us for an upcoming piece she's writing on Access-4. Actually, it was Dusty who was the real trooper. She just asked us if we could meet with her sometime to do a picture. We could have chosen the IT offices, or my house, or a warm coffee shop somewhere. But, nooooooo. We thought it would be more Just Two Guysy to do it at Union Square.

New Format for the Show
With me moving, Micah and I have kicked around a few ideas for how to keep the Just Two Guys machine rolling forward. We've come up with a few options. Maybe you can help us decide.
1) Internet Radio Show (podcast)-This would likely be a biweekly or monthly show that we would conduct using either something like Gabcast or a podcast audio recorder with phone recording technology. Bonus here is that those of you who might like to catch up with us could listen while you're doing other things. Much different than watching a show. And I think we both kind of favor this solution.
2) Direct to Youtube Video Show-This would be significantly harder to pull off as it would require us to both film video 900 miles apart and splice it together for each show. May be doable, but do we have the time and energy.
3) Micah Finds a Replacement Host-In this scenario, Micah would simply replace me and move on with a new host. Given the state of affairs at Public Access these days, this may be easier said than done. The number of programs being taped at Access 4, coupled with cutbacks out there have made show tapings next to impossible to get. I'd be fully supportive if Micah decides to go this route.
4) We Suck and Never Should Have Been Allowed on Air in the First Place-Maybe you don't like us. That's cool, too. If you think we should just hang it up and leave the world alone, please let us know.

The Ultimate Zombie Movie
This is dedicated to my friend Travis, who likes the Ultimate Warrior more than anyone else I know. Actually, maybe his love of the Ultimate Warrior also has something to do with his love of ultra-endurance running. Hmmm.
Anyway, I found this the other day as I was browsing Youtube, so I share it here. The production quality isn't great, but I couldn't help but laugh.

Earth as Art
As I was browsing around the web this morning for work, I came across a site created by the USGS called Earth as Art, featuring images of Earth taken from the Landsat-7 satellite. Some of the images are amazing.
One of my favorites is this shot of Jordan.
